Welcome to our road bike adventures, starting in La Rapita, Catalonia – just south of Barcelona. Our cycling trips are carefully designed to showcase the very best of the region: majestic mountains, charming small villages, quiet country roads, breathtaking nature, and the sparkling sea.

Day 1 – Arrival & bike test
Welcome to La rapita
On your first day, you’ll land at Barcelona Airport, where our private driver will be waiting to take you to our hotel in La Rapita. After check-in, we’ll hold a short briefing to go over the plans for the coming days and you will also meet your guide and coach Santi. You’ll then have the chance to test and adjust your rental bikes to ensure everything is perfectly set up. The day concludes with a welcoming dinner together.
Day 2 – Rice fields
Cycling through the rice fields of the Ebro Delta is a peaceful and immersive experience, where nature, culture, and tradition meet. Flat, quiet roads wind between endless green (or golden, depending on the season) paddies, where rice has been grown for centuries and still shapes daily life in the delta.
As you ride, you’ll pass irrigation canals, small farmhouses, and flocks of birds - herons, flamingos, and egrets are common sights in this protected natural park.
Lunch will be a rice mill where we will taste paellas! Dinner in town!
Day 3 – Mountains and villages
Departing from our hotel in La Ràpita, we head inland for a day that contrasts beautifully with the flat delta landscapes. The road gently leads us through a series of small, authentic villages, where quiet streets, stone houses, and local cafés reflect everyday life in rural Spain.
As the ride continues, the terrain begins to roll and then rise, with long, steady climbs that are perfectly suited to road cycling. The mountains open up around us, offering sweeping views over valleys, olive groves, and distant coastline. These roads are calm and scenic, allowing for a steady rhythm and enjoyable climbing rather than steep or technical riding.
After the ride we will enjoy a nice lunch at the hotel followed by a siesta. In the afternoon we will suggest a variation of activities for you.
Day 4 – Monte Caro
From the hotel, we set off towards the famous Monte Caro route near Amposta. This is a true challenge for road cyclists, featuring sustained climbs, smooth tarmac, and rewarding descents. The effort is well worth it, with stunning views and a real sense of achievement at the top.
A classic and demanding ride that showcases the more mountainous side of the region.
Lunch will be a the hotel and dinner in town!
Day 5 – Water reservoir
From the hotel, we leave the coast behind and ride inland on quiet, winding roads that gradually lead us into a more mountainous landscape. The route takes us through small villages and open countryside, with the terrain slowly becoming more rolling as we approach the hills.
As we climb higher, the scenery changes to forests, rocky slopes, and wide-open views. The ride culminates at the Pantano de Ulldecona, a beautiful reservoir surrounded by mountains and untouched nature. The calm water, framed by rugged peaks, creates a peaceful and striking contrast to the day’s effort on the bike.
Day 6 –check out and transfer
A relaxed morning, feel free to go for a walk post breakfasst before departure to your flight.

Juanito Platja is a charming, family-run hotel with a unique location right by the beach in La Ràpita. You’ll stay comfortably with fantastic sea views and a genuine Spanish atmosphere. The rooms are bright and fresh with simple but tasteful décor. All rooms have a sea view and a private balcony or terrace, perfect for enjoying the sunrise over the Mediterranean. Each room also includes TV, air conditioning, and Wi-Fi.
The hotel’s restaurant serves delicious, homemade dishes made with local ingredients and freshly caught fish from nearby fishermen. You can enjoy your meals in a relaxed atmosphere overlooking the sea. Breakfast and dinner, including wine with the meal, are included. Juanito Platja is perfect for those seeking an authentic and personal experience. The beach is literally right outside the door, and the charming town center of La Ràpita is within easy walking or cycling distance.
